Hondata MAP Sensor question
If you upgrade from a 2 BAR to a 3 BAR MAP sensor without telling the Hondata unit in the ROM editor, what will happen? The guy I sold my car to did just that and he has been getting CEL's but the code thrown is invalid.
BTW, this guy has been boosting 15+ psi on 440 cc injectors, when the car was tuned and dynoed, it was maxing out the 440's on 10 psi, tuning for a 12.2:1 A/F ratio. Smart guy eh?
Another thing, when the car was tuned, the boost cutout on the Hondata was set for 11 psi, since the different MAP sensor gives a different voltage for 11 psi, maybe thats how he is able to go past 11 psi and not hit the cutout?

the voltage changes with the 3 bar, and therefor, his tuning will be just about worthless. The Hondata unit has to be told there is a 3 bar attached, otherwise it cannot compensate correctly.
The thing with hondata is that you can technically run /any/ map sensor and still tune for it. Just understand that 0v is full vacuum and 5v is the top limit of the sensor, it should be linear between those 2 points.

...so 5 Volts on the 2 bar ~ 11 psi, where the Hondata boost cutout is supposed to kick in... but I guess the 11 psi voltage on a 3 BAR MAP sensor would be less that that, so is that why he can go past 11 psi? Sounds like the Hondata thinks its seeing a certain boost but the actual boost is somewhat higher, so the motor is probably not getting the fuel required for the boost he's running
I'm debating on if I should tell the guy, he's kind of a cocky fella
