Default Hondata or E-manage?

Which one of these would be the best bang for your buck for a boosted Honda? I beleive the e-mangae is like 350. and the hondata is like 500. Do they do just about the same thing? Also include extras that you might need to purchase with each of them. ex. e-manage - ignition harness, injector harness, etc. and ex. hondata - fuel pump, fpr, injectors, compatible honda ecu, etc. All this stuff adds up with the purchas so which really will be more bang for ya buck and still get the job done?

know one has even tried it to my knowledge so how can there be opinions on it? First of all it is greddy one of the top performance manufactures in the world, and there is a group buy on them for 300 shipped. THe guy emailed me back and said with the support software, ignition, injector, and boost harness runs like 665 shipped. I am highly considering this since using a hondata on a gsr is pricey after buying the obd1ecu and harness and in some cases a knew intake manifold. Turns out to be over a grand, compared to 665. But, it is a new product so finding someone to tune it may be a challenge and hondata dealers offer good customer service from what i have heard.

The e-manage is a piggy back and there are lots of hidden cost for cables, the actual software and other add-ons to help it "pretend" to be a stand-alone. A guy over here with a 1G-GT powered Stupra has one installed. He could have spent $200 more and got a Power FC since the yen rate is so delicious right now.

The new Hondata should be released soon...

yeah it looks like it could be kinda like a standalone when you add the additional harness and the software. i wonder if this needs to be dyno tuned? or can u just use a wideband to tune it on the road or something like that. if so tuning of the e-manage should be cheaper. i really would like to see some results of this on someones car. Anyone?...

Enlighten me as to how something can be "kinda like a standalone" ? It either fools with the stock ECU inputs/outputs or it runs all by itself.

If you want one of these, it's almost the exact same thing as the EFI PMS, which also sucks.

the e manage while only 300 has to be tuned by a greddy authorized tuner, in which they must pay monthly to be able you use the software. originally the e manage software was going to be on the market then they changed their mines. greddy bastards. go with the hondata 2b with datatlogging. if u have obd1 its like 795 or 745. or even better 3b, when you shift gears you are still under boost with the rev limiters, also has factory vtec control.

I use the "kind like a stand alone" term VERY loosely! Greddy tries to push it off as an "almost" stand alone because of the software. It doesn't matter what you call it.. a piggy back is a piggy back! Oink oink!

If I had more Hondata info I would give it up. I haven't heard anything lately but Hondata is working a Animal House Delta Tau Xi "Double Secret Probation" project that will be released sometime this summer. I know as much as everybody else... NOTHING!
