hondata is a standalone engine management. basically it replaces y0ur stock computer and makes it so that you can control fuel ,spark, boost and such on a labtop with windows software and hondata also has datalogging. you dont need a hondata system to hit 12's but you will need some type of fuel controler .
that description is rather far from the truth. it does not replace your stock ecu, but rather works in conjuction with your stock ecu and allows the implication of modified fuel and ignition maps. Hondata's dont control boost either. you will need a boost controller for that.
im sorry i was just giving information the way i perceived it from hondatas website. i should of said instead of replacing the ecu you send it to them and they modify it making it programmable. in hondatas websites words"Hondata modifies standard Honda ECUs, adding features and expanding the capabilities of the ECU (to read boost for example)". i thought that the b meant that it controls boost , i guess it just reads it instead of fooling it with check valves. i guess i was wrong.
