Default homemade or not?

What do yall recommend? My car is pretty much stock, all I have is a 2.5" cat back which sounds like a straight up rice burner!!(Will it still sound like that after he turbo kit is installed?) Do yall recommend me to start off with a homemade kit or just go ahead and buy an 800 dollar "complete" turbo kit with a budget of about 800-1000?

Piece one together, and who sells a whole turbo kit for $800. A turbo and just a manifold will set you back about $800
