Default HKS Super Sequential BOV

Ok just a quick question
im now debaiting if the HKS SQ is a good idea.

I want a BOV where i can adjust the sound a little bit meaning i dont want an ear piercing squeal everytime i shift.

I know the HKS has 2(?) diffrent inserts that change the sound, but do they each squeal like that? the altrac site dosent really give a sound for each insert.

Any input is appreciated.

The sound never gets annoying....Trust me....just drive normal and you'll be cool...just dont boost heavy...The BOV aint always gonna be loud..only when you smash the gas pedal..

Joe, it wont get annoying. it sounds like a high pitched chirping noise, but it's a really sweet sound. you will dig it man.

there is only one screw on the back to open/tighten the bov. you can fool w/ it for your liking, but it might not be as effective if you open it too much.

I dont know many people that would spend all that money just for the PSSHH sound, it is cool though!

when it flutters its too tight
thats actually bad, its not allowing all the air out

no fin
purple fin
yellow/gold fin

I have both fins. The gold is a waste of money, same as the one it comes with.
The purple is more pshhhy. At high boost/high RPM it will always chirp. The purple its not as ear piercing.

I tried with no insert and couldn't hear much but a rush of air.

actually the SSQ has 3 inserts now...

1-normal(purple)
2-loud(gold)
3-stealth or quiet and a tad bit different type of noise, i have yet to hear it though(black insert)

Colors may not be correct

This can't be true I have the hks SSQ on my drag 3 turbo and mine is silver! It's still loud and gives off a nice sound.

And I don't know why you wouldn't want to hear it. All I can ask is have you ever driven in a turbo car? The BOV sound is so tight!!

if you want something quiet that works well get a greddy typeR or something like it and recirculate the air back into your intake pipe.. and there you would hardly even hear the thing..

I have the HKSS with the Purple insert, but I'd like to try it without any insert. Can someone explain how you remove it?
