Default HKS SSQV Question

I have the second gen HKS SSQV I believe (The model with the adjustment screw on the back). Recently I recieved a new sc-61 turbo via warrenty due my old turbo malfunctioning. Now the guys at Precision advised me that my previous turbo broke because of my BOV??? Saying it wasnt "lenient" enough. So by that I take it that my BOV wasnt opening early enough and I have to loosen the adjustment screw on the back of it correct?

Bassically I guess my question is if the adjustment screw works in the normal right left system, so if i tighten the screw thats going to tighten up the BOV and if I loosen the screw its going to loosen up the BOV??

Please advise,

Thanks!

I was told by HKS on my gen 1 model that the unit is set from the factory and is not to be adjusted. However, it always had a compressor stall issue. I adjusted it and it went away. I recommend you do the same or just ditch it. I will not be using mine on the next setup. Spool up might be affected but I doubt you would notice without watching your datalogs or being on a dyno and seeing it.

How exactly did you adjust it?

There is no set number. All engines and setups will be different.

~poweredbygarrett~ Just do 1/4 turns and test drive after each one till the compressor stall stops. If you hear it leaking at idle ( hissing) then tighten it back up. I never turned it one full turn in either direction while testing.
