Re: HKS manifold (ill_take_one)
That is not an HKS manifold, well not one for a Honda anyway. The HKS Honda manifolds are not externally gated and have a T-25 flange(not DSM!). I currently have one, and the quality is good. If you are starting up a homemade kit and don't know too much about forced induction in general, I would go for something with a T-3 flange. So much easier. Just My .02

:::::::sigh::::::
Yes, that is correct. However, they have DSM specific turbine housings and are, therefore, completely different from every other T-25 in the universe.

Re: HKS manifold (sgT)
Yes, you are correct Mitsubishi does make turbos. However, it does not make the T-25. It is made my Garrett for Diamond Star Motors(DSM). These are the cars that the Garrett made T-25 would go on. Garrett uses a turbine housing cast made specific for DSMs. They will not fit any other T-25 flanges.

Re: HKS manifold (Dee)
That is the SARD/Top Fuel K26 manifold. I own one excactly like it and another friend has one on his EG6.

Re: HKS manifold (SuperDuperEG)
That manifold brand new is $1200+ by itself and uses Blitz w/g flanges. The Kit with manifold, K26 turbo, Blitz w/g and DP is $4600. WAY over priced but typical of Top Fuel. HKS Kyushu does make a stainless mani for GT series turbos but it is also $1200+.
I got my used kit complete for $400 off of a japanese auction page.

I guess i consider that i'm somewhat knowledgable with forced induction, but i am learning something new almost every damn day on this site
I do have a question or two though..
1)what do you mean the honda manifolds arent externally gated?
2)how do you know what flange a manifold has?
3)whats the deal with 4 and 5 bolt flanges? i guess i'm not even sure what i'm tryin to ask with this?
Thanks for your input guys and not flaming my silly ***. H-T rules
Peace

Re: HKS manifold (ill_take_one)
The "HKS" honda manifolds are not externally gated. Meaning: they do not have provisions, i.e. a flange, for an external wastgate. They must be used with an internally wastgated turbo. If you were to go to the HKS website it would list what flange is for what manifold. The manufacturer tells you what flange it is. As for 4 or 5 bolt flanges, these are usually refering to the turbine discharge, which can have any number of wacky configurations. Most INLET flanges are 4 bolt. T25, T3, T4, etc...
Also, buy nothing until you have done enough research to make you sick. I am on here almost every day. I absorb info like a sponge, but take everything with a grain of salt, alot of people just regurgitate garbage and do not know what they are talking about. Research, research, research....

Any recommendations? I've only heard good things about the revhard ones.

Re: HKS manifold (ill_take_one)
Cast HKS manifolds use internal w/g turbos while the stainless steel HKS Kyushu manifolds use whatever w/g flange you specify.
