Default High compression and low boost engine setup

Hallo guys, I’m new here so please bear with me
I would like to hear your opinion about running a high compression and forced induction at the same time. I could see several advantages, one being that with high compression you get more power throughout the entire revband, both while on and off boosting. With the higher compression you wouldn't need to crank up the boost as much compared to an equal engine running low compression. Thus you could use a smaller turbo and be able to build boost sooner. Disadvantages? Well I think the tuning has to accurate. There is not al lot of error-room with high compression; get the tuning wrong and you will be punished with the detonation of death. Tell me what you think.
