The good thing, is you can run a super small snail on it, run about 15lbs., make like 500whp, and start feeling spool almost instantly. I made 389whp, and 215tq on a stock sleeve b16 w/ 11.5-1 wisecos, and a decent amount of headwork. I ran c12, an sc61, ramhorn, a quality intercooler, and I saw full boost by 4k, and raped it all the time. Ran like a champ till I parted the set-up. Your goal is low for what you have going on here. I say, throw it together, and love it!
nice. so u had stock sleeves and high compression, which netted u close to 400whp. do u think if i lowered the compression to maybe 10.1:1 with the stock sleeves, itll be able to be reliable like yours at 500whp? im a little worried about 500whp, stock sleeves, and 11.5:1 combo lol ... btw what rpm did u take it to?
I can speak from experience and state compression does not help spool at all. Head flow and discplacement do. But manifold design still is the biggest factor.
Total power output is the concern with stock sleeves not the compression. Compression to boost is relative to total power ouput. I think its foolish to go down this path without a sleeved block. Stock sleeves are risky above 400hp, period.

The knock threshold is that high with E85 where 12.5:1 and boost is safe? I know it's about 104 octane and lowers cylinder temperatures by around 200 degree but damn! I've always wanted to do a higher compression turbo build so it rides out before it spools. I hate lag!
Ill take Muckman's advice and sleeve it unless i plan to make 400 or less. I'm keeping the NA motor and building another from scratch.
we know teh compresson is no big deal with the fuel. and stock honda motors have been known to take 500+ im assuming your forged engine eventhough its allmotor parts is stonger than honda cast parts. if i had that engine i would run it to 600 without even thinking twice.
