Help! Which Turbo For My LSVTEC?
LSVTEC Setup:
BLOCK: B18B1, 84mm bore, Golden Eagle Sleeves, Endyn 9:1 Pistons, Eagle Rods, GSR Oil and Water Pumps.
HEAD:B18C1 Head with CTR cams (stock gsr valvetrain untill i can get some more money) Future plans for the head are dual valve springs, titanium retainers, and porting.
Skunk2 IM and GSR tranny
Goals: 300-350whp daily driven, want to hit the drag strip much as possible(want to get through those 1,320ft. as quick as possible
).
Im very new to the forced induction scene, i have been looking into different trims, a/r, and types of turbos, but there are so many choices i am having a hard time deciding whats right for me, so can all you turbo gods and experts please help me decide on a reasonable turbo for my goals and setup. Price is not an issue.
Thanks In Advance

If your only looking for 300-350whp then damn, u wasted alot of money on your motor when u can make those numbers on a stock block with a good tune no problem...
But since u only want 350whp and quick spool i'd look into the GT28Rs..

they max out around 400whp but do have a fast spool

how did he waste money?
At that power level he would be not pushing that set up at, meaning that if built and tuned well that **** will last forever.
Try 350whp with a stock motor and see how long it lasts when abused.
I'm all for overbuilding, it created a big margen of saftey, like a OEM build
this guy is smart

sleeves wasnt necessary for 300-350whp. and he plans on building the head in the future but why build the head if your only going for 300-350whp? you gonna get a twin disk clutch and external fuel system while your at it for 300-350whp?

YEah, i guess it was a good move, and when hes gets his 350whpo, he WILL want more, and now theres room for more.

why not tune it at max boost and then in the future if he wants more boost he can turn it up so he doesnt have to waste money on tuning again. with a built block he could do at least in the 400 easily with a decent tuner.
Everyone knows that theres no such thing as perfection, once you get that 350whp your going to eventually push for more, and i know damn well that 350whp is not going to satisfy me forever.
I actually blew my last block, which i have to admit played a factor in the decision to go fully built block for obvious insurance reasons.
Also the reason i decided to settle for 350whp is because it is my daily driver and i dont want to push other components of my car such as the gsr oil pump, non lsd tranny, stock radiator, stock axles untill i have the money to upgrade to better performance parts.
Also, there is the issue of getting the power to the ground. Even with 450whp its almost useless to me due to the fact that i have no lsd, shitty coilovers, no traction bar, and horrible tires. There is also the fact that im limited to 91oct gasoline, and i believe its unsafe to push high numbers in the whp and psi areas running on that octane level.
Please, i am very new to the forced induction scene, so feel free to please correct my mistakes, argue against me, and make suggestions. I am open to everything, and i love hearing what other h-t members have to say.

What i'm saying is tune it to max power but i'm not expecting u to run max power on a daily driven basis. I am in the same boat as you, i drive my car daily and have no lsd, stock axles, stock radiator, and im on the 91 octane you run on also. I'm over 600whp but that doesnt mean i run 600whp on the street everyday. I run only 10psi and around 350-370whp on the street only, but when i'm at the track i run max boost with race gas.

I still think in your price range a .50 or .57 trim is your best bet

the holset snails are pretty good. from what ive researched, the hx35 is pretty close to a sc61 in power. i just picked up a h1c (similar to hx35 only its a t4) for $71 on ebay!! after i get it rebuilt, its still far less cheaper than even a t3/t4 brand new.
