i have a integ 98
the block is bore to 84mm build with endyn 9:1w/rings..eagle h rods..and darton sleeves...
the head is stock...(got broke after buildin my bottom.. )

well first the car kept on overheating for like a week...then i saw white smoke comin out the breather and the dipstick also...im thinking its the rings, but i don't even have over 1500 miles on it...

its a white smoke..smell sweet..this indicates a blown head gasket rite??? but is it possiable i blown the rings as well...cause smoke aslo comes out the dipstick...

when i pop the radiator cap, i can see a rainbow..so that means oil is present rite???


can somone help me out......?????

 

Its definitly burning coolant... white and sweet... the HG is probly shitted...the rings shouldnt't be shot at 1500 mi., how confident are you in the build and break in? Somebody else shed some light here

 

i was really inpatient so i punch it a couple of times....i buddy told me to wait for at least a 1000 but i couln't wait...i setup is ok..i reused my bearings.that was about it...

but that doesn't solve the white smoke coming out the dipstick...hmmm...do a compression test.

i beleive it will be somewhat low in one of the cylinders with blown HG...with a bad ring...it will be really low!

 

There's controversy over the break-in. Apparently beating the **** out of it is actually better for proper ring seating.

 

no i didn't do a compression test...the oil from the dipstick puzzled me too..that is why i post...thx for you help...
