u dont have to technically chip it...u can do it for free by urself...im not sure if its good or not but i ran with a auto p28 on my d15b everything werks no CEL light for auto lock tq....its simple..
heres a pic
on the lower left side u will find a series of resistors...its outlined in white in the pic...the rectangle area...its label very tiny but all u have to do is cut P17....there should be a lil resistor on there...thats it....plug it in and see if it werks...it werked for me...took 1 sec and ur done....

yes i kno that there are those black packets there and shows that if its auto or not...but i just cut P17 and it werked for me...im just saying what u have to lose...trust me on this cut p17 and ur good...

Damn, I wish I found this out sooner, I sent mine in to be converted for $20.
Oh well, when I get it back I can at least confirm.
