Default HELP ME SPOOL!!!!

Alright so Im gonna make this nice and short....

Im running a fully built 4g63 2.0 with a GT42 (non-R) with a T6 flange and a 1.15 A/R

Im looking to change the turbine housing cuz mine takes forever to spool

Now would a turbine housing of A/R 0.98 make it alot better or would it just help spool just a bit more then a 1.15?

Nope. Won't help ya much at all. You've chosen a turbo for drag racing only with that displacement. You have too large of a turbo, bottom line. "spool" is irrelevant in your case. Change turbos.

Nice and short.

only thing that will make it a better powerband is rev it higher

not going to be able to do anyting go get that turbo to spool sooner

did you buy that car with that turbo? if not why did you decide to get that turbo?

im sure you could trade turbos with someon on here but you would probably change manifolds as well because i don't think there is anything smaller with a t6 flange

when do you make boost? how much power are you making? how high are you revving? you have a dyno?

His rocker arms setup of the head won't allow him to "rev". He could do that all day, and it wouldn't help much. Just put more stress on the rotating assembly.

listen to the shodan and get a new turbo.

but my question is:

what the hell made you decide to get a GT42? And if thats not crazy enough on a 2.0 you get the journal bearing version and to just add frosting to the cake you get the one with the T6 footprint? I know this is honda-tech but i have a decent amount of experience with dsm's and your setup is pretty bizarre, what was the application for the car? what was the hp desired? and just for sh*ts and giggles would you mind posting a pic? I just want to see what that looks like.

well Car rev's to 9500 and made 553hp on 26psi on pump gas. Turbo spools at about 6500+ and when I race and hit 6500rpm it just pushes me like CRAZY!!!

I still dont understand why you have such a large turbo, what is your ultimate HP goal? how much boost/power you making on race gas? consider buying the R version...

I made 540 whp on 21 psi on pump gas with a GT35r .82. I'm at 84x89 in terms of displacement and I spool almost instantly....You can make close to 700 whp with a GT35r with the right set-up, cams, etc on race gas, and you fix your spool problems.

I don't believe a 35r can hit much north of 625whp on a dsm..it's not a Honda..lol.

But someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

Hey I'm making 540 whp and only ran a 12.7 at 129 mph haha...but that was on 205 street tires, after a hour drive to the track, overheating, blown headgasket and heatsoaked beyond belief

Is there something you don't understand about "test run" and feeling the car out?

You need a much smaller turbo, something like a T04z or a 40r will get you to 700whp no problem and spool MUCH faster...

agreed, as stated earlier they dont have the VE we do, like my turbo b16 makes 333whp at 12psi from a gt3076r, my friends evo with a gt3076r makes 350whp at 22psi!
