it doesnt seem like it would be, but generally a power adder is considered forced induction.

Are you forcing in an outside substance through a means of pressure?

It's a gas under high pressure released into the intake with supplemental fuel.

Think about it.

so it is considered forced induction?

encyclopedia says it isnt..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forced_induction

read all of that..

"Nitrous oxide is not considered forced induction as it does not increase pressure into the intake. It does however, increase the quantity of oxygen available for combustion."

im just trying to get an understanding now..

Is a nitrous car considered All-Motor then?

exactly. its an oxidizer. Its not FORCED induction. Foced induction means the air is forced to travel through the induction system, nitrous just oxidizes the induction system. Its an oxidizer, period.

I think all motor refers to just air/fuel with no forced induction.

I say no. I say its a power adder. Your not forcing the nitrous in anymore then you are forcing your gas in via the injectors.

Funny because there is oxygen in nitrous.

An oxydizer is a accelerant, but with out a ignition source or oxygen it will no ignite!! Trust me I work for a chemical company

your forcing nitrous through lines at high psi through small jets. Sounds forced to me.

Yes, it's forced induction. You are forcing an extra amount of a needed element (oxygen) into the engine in order to increase it's power. Oxidizer or not, naturally aspirated engines take what it naturally there at it's grasp. Any form of oxygen that an engine can not source on it's own is forced induction.

I would say that yes it is forced induction, beacuase something other than stock intended is being injected or pushed in w/ the intent of gaining something.

I am going to have to say its not forced induction. There is pressure in the lines and jets just like the fuel rail and injectors but once out the engine is creating its own vaccum and sucking it in. I've never used nitrous but I dont think the engine sees boost when sprayed. I was thinking more like how there is more oxygen and higher atmosphere pressure at sea level than at higher altitudes.

Nitrous is not forced induction, it's just Nitrous.

Not forced induction...

It's not the pressure of the Nitrous being sprayed that's giving the motor the power, it's the chemical reaction that is happening.
