When does it do it? What temp is it out by you. My SRP's were pretty loud in the winter on cold startup but that is about it.

SRP pistons should not have piston slap. they expand very little upon warming up

damaging the cylinder calls and piston skirts. does the slap go away after a min or 2 of running?

I would rule out all other posabilities and then bring it back to the builder.

If u need to ask if it is psiton slap, then theres probably other reasons for the noise.

If not, follow step 1.

see if you can get the piston to wall clearances, if you don't have it written down somewhere already. then go from there. forged pistons need to run a little looser so they have room to expand, meaning the engine might be a little noisy until it is warmed up. Too much clearance is no good either.

My dd was built with srp's and the injectors are louder than the pistons, even with this single digit temps we have had lately.I set them a little loose too.

noise does not go away.... doesn't sound normal to me. when it was first installed, it sounded quiet... i took it for 2 weeks to put some miles one it. after about 1k miles, i took it back in to get it dynoed...

after that, i started getting these noise... i'll try to record it...

pretty sure its the pistons..

noise does not go away... was told that it was safe to drive on... anyone?

Do the basics.Check your valve lash, drain and inspect the oil,cut the filter open and check the pleats for metal.Pistons don't usually start making noise after 1k with out being damaged.

i'm guessing it was damaged right after the break-in.. i took it back to get it dynoed... and im guessing that it F'd up on the dyno...

i checked the oil when i picked the car up, but the oil was brand new so im guessing they already replaced the oil and filter.

the only way is to take it apart i guess..

anyways, the main issue i have now is this and the burnt coolant smell im getting inside teh cabin... very "sweet" smelling.
