Default HELP I DUNNO>>>>>>


Whats the oil pressure on a d16z6 at idle??????? my oil pressure drops after warming up it gets to about 45- 50 psi and then drops as the car warms up all the way down to like 8-15 psi whats that mean??? were is the pressure suppose to be at . at idle?????? i checked all bearing and oil pump pick up its all good but i think it might be pump .... or is it the oil i use 5-30W should i use thicker oil its a 93 civic ex d16z6 Turbo'd

Thats WAY to low... Where are you getting your oil reading from? That can play a role in a low reading allot of times. If you have checked the pickup then I would try another gage before you swap the oil pump. That is unless the motor is at the scheduled millage or close to it for a pump change.

i got my reading from a mech. gauge and its brand new! i put it yesterday because my oil light was flickering....the motor has 280,000 miles on it ...yeah yeah thats alot but i have rebuilt the motor bottom end and bought a newer head but its still stock i have checked everything im stumpted

When he is asking where u are getting the reading from he is refering to where did you tap on the engine for the oil pressure line. It can be done in many different spots, block, head, ext, and you will get different readings as well????

Are you saying that you are using the stock sender? Is so, that will not work.

It would not read anything if he did that, it's just a hobbs switch.

If the car has that high a millage then you need to change out the oil pump anyway.
Mechanical gauges do suck though. You sure you didn't kink the line anywhere? How long is it?

Mechanical gauges are actually more accurate overall than electrical ones.
