Hey Guys,

I just noticed today that on acceleration, there is a funny blipping/click sound.
It is only when the clutch is engaged, so I'm thinking that it's a clutch/transaxle/gear problem. Any ideas?

It's not so bad in 1st gear, but seems to be consistent across the other gears, and
the frequency of the blipping occurs proportionally with RPM.

Again, no noise at all if if the clutch is not engaged. Definitely still boost. Definitely
is not detonation/pinging.

I was thinking that too... Right now, in idle.. with the clutch engaged (and not in gear), somewhere in the drivetrain has a squeeking sound. When I lightly press
on the clutch (move maybe 2-5mm), the sound disappears.

 

i have the same screeching noise. Its the throw out bearing.

 

Today, I just noticed that the sound comes from the driver's side of the engine.
The clutch/etc, is on the right side of the engine (when sitting in the car).

Would the sound be coming from the throwout bearing?

Also, this only happens on acceleration.. If I am constant at 3k rpm, no funny
blipping sound.

Only things that I know is screwed up is my driverside CV Boot, which is missing
a clamp. But would it make noises only on acceleration?

What does a broken oilpump or water pump sound like?
