HELP:ems selection

Default HELP:ems selection

I'm stuck on deciding between AEM series 2 and s300
setup is
b18c sleeved 83mm cp 9:1
ls crank
manley rods
supertech valvetrain and flate faced nitrate coated valves
bc stage 2 n/a cams
ge cam gears
afi topmount
precision dbb 6765
aem water/meth
ID 1000
aeromotive fpr
ge fuel rail
fluidampr
tuner is very comfortable with both systems

Talk to your tuner and see what theyre most comfortable with.

He said he's fine with either it's up to me what I want.
Would the aem be worth it over the s300?

It depends what you want from the car. You need to go on both there site's and read through there features. Which ever suits you the best go for.

s300 or neptune and be done... aem will cost alot more

s300, neptune or ectune is all you need. most peopel that buy aem ems dont even use its full potentional they buy it to say they have an AEM EMS and its expensive for the average setup

AEM EMS is too much for 90% of us. Its complicated and expensive too. I went from AEM to Neptune and I love it. Stock engine start and idle are ignored until you dont have it.

I still think there's nothing wrong with used AEMs. Is there?

No but I hated mine. I learned how to tune on it and I think I have a better understanding of EFI because of it. But I could never tune out some of the annoyances nor could several pro tuners. I switched to Neptune and love it. Its childsplay by comparison. Sometimes Id like to revisit the newer AEM software thinking it may have improved but then I have cold sweats. I have a love/hate relationship with AEM EMS.

LOLOL strongly Agree

Nightmares of the old AEM system tryiing to tune on it, when i switched to s300 it was like tuning with my eyes closed

Cost is really not a concern, Im getting a super deal on aem series 2 for $900, s300 shipped to me with boost solenoid is gonna run $600-650
I jus want the most flexibility in changing maps from pump/meth to race gas, cop for the future, and mostly the most control over everything

Well if your looking for the most felxability then yes the AEM is your way to go, and that price is good too
