Default HELP! broke a ring during assembly

yea i know it sucks. first time ive ever done this but does anyone know what i have to do to get just one CP ring. its the 2nd compression ring on my 84mm b20vtec piston and i only need one but i have a feeling its gonna come in a set. any ideas????

Yup, at the minimum I would think you'd have to get ONE complete set but I would definately try to buy just one By the way, how did it break, when you were installing it? Good Luck

yes, they said they do not deal directly with consumers and i had to go thru a distributor. i think earl is going to hook me up

Earl hooks it up...we have both broken the Middle Cast CP Ring....its very very brittle...everyone be careful.

yea i was using a piston ring compressor i wasnt comfortable with and i had never used that kind before and i just hit it one too many times. my own fault, i should went home to get my compressor

I've broke them from putting them on the piston by hand, they are very brittle.

I was lucky. I almost broke the rings if Earl was not watching me when I was trying to tap the pistons in. That was my first time trying to put the pistons into the block. Earl is the man.
