HELP?!!?!?
Sup guys so i have this issue right now. maybe one of you lovely gentlemen may help me. i own a b20b witch i have on a engine stand right now with a turbo kit mocked up. and i rebuilt the engine with all new internals pistons rods etc .. NOW i am trying to put the timing belt on correctly but i am having a small issue. i set my block at tdc piston number one is all the way at its very top. sprocket mark lining up with arrow on oil pan and all than i line up my cam gears both with lining marks facing each other. Than as i slide the timing belt on and pull up on the tesioner soon as i pull up on the tensnitor BOOM my cam gears go off timing. seems like as i tighten it up it pulls the belt and moves the cam gears off timing !! any tricks i should know about ? btw i tried moving the exhaust gear up a thooth or so and soon as i did that and tighten it the cam gear moved right into place and its now in timing ... i just wanna know if i did it or if i did something wrong ???!!!!???!!!

Re: HELP?!!?!?
I will assume you meant on the oil pump? Look up at the cam cap that houses your seal. Does it have a hole in the top of it? Use a drill bit (the round shank end, not the drill end) to drop in those holes to hold the cams in place. I have used punches, drill bits and transfer punches to do this. Make sure they are facing the right way.

Re: HELP?!!?!?
i used a Allen key and yes I've tried that and it did not work cam still moves. like i said i have it aligned already its in timing i just wanna make sure the way i did it is correct Again what i did was line the bottom end on tdc than aligned the intake cam gear on tdc and exhaust cam gear just about a tooth or 2 up from tdc slid the belt on pulled up on the tensitor and as i did that the exhaust cam lined itself up with the intake and boo ya ! there she gos nice and aligned. i rotated the crank couple times just to make sure it doesn't skip any teeth and it didn't. am i okay ???

Re: HELP?!!?!?
NO it's not half a tooth off or anything its pretty dead on. only thing now is i feel like the timing belt might be to tight ? i can grab the long side of the belt and turn in 90 degree turn ... so that's fine right ? just seems tight but im sure its okay.?
