Head failed the pressure test !!!! question....
so i posted earlier that my car was losing compression and i decided to take it apart without doing a leakdown test because i did not have access to one. well i dropped off the head to the machine shop and when i called to see how it went with the test, they told me that it had failed the pressure test and that one of the valves was leaking really bad. that would be comfort to my heart persay since we fould the problem.
my question is this.... can that lead to low compression numbers when doing a compression test, and also the reason why i felt a lose of power ???
how can this happen ? there is no damage to pistons, rings, or ringlands. car has been tuned, from day one, and timed perfectly. never low on oil or any problems. any ideas ???
head is a B18C with stock cams, skunk2 cam gears, skunk2 v-springs, retainers, but STOCK valves.
car was tuned with only 7 psi and i barely even took it into boost during the day time.
Please help fellow H-T'ers

Re: Head failed the pressure test !!!! question.... (EK_GSR)
so the builder got back to me and he told me what the problem was. and for some reason there was wayyy too much carbon build up and it was stopping the valve from sitting and thus leaking. how is this possible ??? TUNE ?!?! the car was tuned.... but oh well. at least everything is okay mechanically and nothing needs to be machined and such.
