Has anyone put in ARP head bolts without having to remove the head so it don't ruin the headgasket?
It's a SOHC VTEC D16Z6.

its not gonna work just replacing one stud at time you will cause the head to actually warp doing it that way. best bet buy a new gasket and do it right. Its not that difficult to do. while you at it replace the timing belt and water pump if it hasnt been replaced .

The current head gasket is still good. No need to replace it. I just want the asurance of the arp bolts and the higher holding torque.

well I would certainly replace the HG when installing new arp head bolts.
The last thing you want to do is have to take of the head again, and re-torque the arp head bolts again.
keep in mind with the ARP head bolts you can only re-torque them down so many times before new ones are needed.
Thus saving yourself time & money in the long run.
Especially is this is your daily driven car cause I know how mad my wife gets when I take time away from the family to work on my car only to find out I have to redo it all over agian correctly.

You should stop looking for shortcuts and do it right the first time.
You're talking about a pretty major part of your motor there. What kind of head gasket is in there that is so great that you don't want to spend another 50-120 bucks to insure that it will seal up right?
