Which head is better to fully build p72 or pr3?
i have 2 heads, one is a 99 gsr head and the other is a 99 b16 head. Which one would be better for me to fully build, i am aiming for 500+hp. i am thinking that fully building a head would make no difference if its a gsr or b16, but i could be wrong can i get some help with this?

To answer your question the B16 head flows more CFM, but a good reason to build a head is for reving the motor higher.

Does'nt make that big of a difference, I would choose the b16 to build, but either one is good for a spare/race.

PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY OF THESE CORNBALLS WHO TELL YOU THAT BUILDING A HEAD IS USELESS.
I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO LISTENED TO THE " BUILDING A HEAD IS A WASTE OF MONEY " PEOPLE AND GUESS WHAT?
I DROPPED A ******* VALVE WHILE BOOSTING THE CAR AND IT WAS GAME OVER....NOW I NEED A NEW HEAD, PISTONS, SLEEVES AND CRANK....DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUILD THAT HEAD.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO PORT AND POLISH, BUT ATLEAST GET THE VALAVE TRAIN.
LASKEY RACING HAS A GOOD SUPERTECH VALAVE TRAIN DEAL.

Thanks for the heads up. But which head would be better the pr3 (b16) head, or the p72 (GSR) head?

If you are not going to send it out to be ported then run either, won't make much of a difference. If you are going to have it ported either now or in the future ask the porter you think you might send it to. Each cylinder head guy has a favorite. My personal choice is the gsr head due to the steeper ports.

Well if it's that hard of a decision, then just leave your gsr engine along, and put the b16 head on the ls block and go from there......
