Default Hall effect setup, ideas, help

Hi i just bought an SM4 and am considering removing dizzy and converting to hall effect setup.
I am using toda cam gears and would like to keep them.
Anyone got any ideas about the best way to set it up,
I know of the existing setup tony1 etc, but i would like to keep my toda gears and power steering.
One idea i had is going off the back of the cam were the dizzy mounts but remove or modify the internals of the dizzy to hall effect setup.
thanks in advance.

Well as far as the kit goes I know you can keep power steering but I am not sure about the gears.I remember Tony stating the golden eagle gears are the only ones with enough room for the magnets?

x2

and the t1 cam trigger does not have to remove power steering.

If you want to remove the distributor, then you'll need a 4-channel ECU. What EMS are you using?

The SM4 has 4 ign outputs, so with my trigger and a multi channel ignition box, you can completely remove the dist.

Doh! Reading>Me. I don't have any experience with the MSD distributor, but I've been using Tony's Hall Effect setup with an AEM EMS for a while and it is pretty amazing. The timing signal is rock steady and the waveform is perfect (I checked it with an oscilloscope), idle is perfectly even and smooth (even down to 500-600 RPM), and no misfires under any conditions.

I have got an MSD dis4 for ignition, how much is the T1 setup including 2 cam gears.
Also the power steering kit again, the bracket on the T1 kit that bolts up to mount the sensor uses the same 2 bolts that my power steering pump uses, so would the power steering bracket have to sit on top of the T1 bracket, anyone got any pics with power steering and T1 kit.
And regarding the MSD pro billet can anyone tell me if this is a true hall effect setup and would it work with my setup,
thanks.

The Tony1 setup will work with the power steering all you have to do ias mount the bracket first then put the powersteering bracket on top of it and get longer bolts.I just asked Tony that a few days ago.The msd is a true hall effect setup.

Thanks the info that was what i was after,
So if your were to install the MSD dizzy, you could use the hall effect for your triggering located inside the MSD dizzy, instead of the standard magnetic sensor inside the standadard dizzy, but plug in the ignition box and coils as normal (from SM4 to DIS4 to coil pack) by passing the rotor and single coil setup of the MSD dizzy,
thanks again.

You could do that, but why pay the $ to hack up an MSD distributor when you can get a better (by better I mean more precise due to the diameter of the ring of magnets on the cam gear as opposed to the distributor) signal from the Tony1 setup?

You wouldnt hack it up just connect the dizzy trigger plug to the trigger input of the SM4, and thats about it.
I'll have weight up my options considering price, performance, and ease of installation.
thanks.

But wouldn't the trigger signal be conditioned into a sine wave if it's made to plug into a stock ECU? I haven't taken an oscilloscope to one yet, but I'd think that you'd have to open it up and find the output of the Hall Effect sensor/s and wire that to your SM4 if you wanted to get a true digital signal.

Thats too technical for me, id like to find out though as that defeats the purpose really, i definately dont think its worth taking apart, but on the other hand if it does give you straight access to the hall effect sensor, that would be good then i could just plug it in,
But how can you be sure, ill try and give MSD an email, thanks.
