Re: H22 turbo cams... (Drum_Guru)
Everything I researched when building my motor pointed to running the stock cams. I ran Some Type-S cams prior but removed them when I rebuilt after reading all the reviews/suggestion for turbo cams.
Not too helpful but it's a start..

Re: H22 turbo cams... (Alstare)
thx man... who else? From what I understand, stock cams have overlap btw intake and exhaust... this would blow boost straight out the exhaust... that would suck... is this true?

I don't know the exact specs, maybe a cam guru will chime in.
I heard the oem cams have very little overlap in comparison to most aftermarket cams, hence the recomendation to use them.
Alot of people making big h22 power #'s are running the stock cams, so atleast we know there decent.

from what we hear too.. the stock ones are fine....at our last dyno our cams were making power on the way to 8000 rpms, I think they will make power to 9k

Re: H22 turbo cams... (tunedbylorange.com)
hey but lets continue the discussion, I must change my camshaft for my h22 head, when I bought the engine it was disassembled (don't bother I bought it at a ridiculous price, less then 700$ with 2 head,...) and when I got it home it was raining out side, so some water got on the camshaft and now their's some spot of rust on it at first I was hesitating to change my camshaft, but now I must change them, so I tought why go with other stock ones when I can get better ones for some more $$

Re: H22 turbo cams... (JSMC)
Use some scotch brite on the camshaft should take off any surface rust, if it's bad then your kinda sol. If you dead set on buying some aftermarket cams lookk for some "turbo" cams...

Re: H22 turbo cams... (Alstare)
ok i'll check if I can do anything with them, but I'm really sure they are useless!!, so i'll go check for which aftermarket company?? the engine is going to rev a lot so I don't want the cam to fail
