GT28RS and it doesn't fit

Default GT28RS and it doesn't fit

I just got a GT28RS and it doesn't fit my manifold!

Heres the picture:



As you can see there is what seems to be a little more MEAT on the the exhaust housing that is hitting the wastegate flange...

My Question Is This:

Can I shave that piece of the exhaust housing down? To me it seems like it is there just to support the weight a little better.

Please Help I Got A Tuning Appointment This Week!!

Itstead taking material away from the turbo, why dont you just extend the wastegate out some?

yep i would elbow the wastegate another inch or so, this is where your welder buddies come into play!

Then he would have to re-route his dumptube right?

Maybe yes, maybe no. If he has a dump tube that goes back into the exhaust, then yes. If it is open dump, he could probably cut it off and extend it how ever much need and "mock" it up and figure a way that he wouldn't have to modify the dump tube.
