GSR turbo build
So I'm hoping once my tax return comes in I'll have the money to start my turbo build.
My plan is to buy an ebay kit but buy a name brand turbo and keep all the rest of the parts. I figure that if the mani cracks then I can just have a re-welded by a shop and if anything breaks I'll replace it. But my biggest concern is tuning. Would is be feasible to get my ECU socketed and get a Pherable chip for my setup until I can step up to Hondata?

Re: GSR turbo build
I wouldnt look at it like that. do a lil bit more research..dont jus slap on a turbo kit and think everything will be fine, do it the right way the first time and you wont have problems down the line(im not knockin ebay parts, ive been there and done that)...The most important part on ebay turbo kits is the bov and the wastegates. i would stay away from thoses..instead of getting a stainless steel cheap manifold look into a cast log manifold. it will hold up alot better and will take the heat...for tuning there is many ways you can go with...talk to your local tuner, and see whats best..because you do wanna be driving your car on a basemap and risk of blowing anything up...check on hondamarketplace, and see if you can get some used good quality parts for a decent price... hope this helped you.

Your plan is quite stupid by the way. Buying an Ebay turbo kit is a waste of time. Just buy quality parts the first time and skip having to fix everything constantly. You say "well, i'll just have it rewelded when it breaks" but you have seemingly forgotten than when that happens, your car will be out of commission for a few days. On top of that, you'll be spending money to fix a manifold that simply isn't worth fixing.
Check the Marketplace, develop a budget and spend accordingly. Buying Ebay garbage just invites trouble.
