How much power Will stock Gsr main bolts hold? (Safely )
Looking for 600hp

I don't want to use ARP main studs unless I have to...I live in BFE and the closest shop to align hone is 2.5hrs away.

 

more power than you will put on them. stock bolts have been used up to 800whp, I haven't heard of setups using stock above this level.

I've used them over 1000whp. Just FYI. Motor is still going strong too.

 

From what ive seen, main studs arent needed, but for whatever reason people doubt the strength of the stock stuff. I dont think I have ever seen a main bolt failure, and any damage ive seen to the mains were caused by other component failure (thrown rods)

Just shy of 12,000rpm actually and on an 89mm stroke.

The secret is use stock bolts and torque them to spec. But SSSHHHHH don't tell anybody. Haha
