gsr or ls/vtec
LS/VTEC has lighter duty stock internals but a stock GSR has to high of a compression ratio to boost much.Neither one is a good stock option for much boost.

Both can hold about 270whp or so (don't go by PSI) before things need to be re-enforced. Check out the various kits and setups available for both and look at the options based on what YOU'RE looking for, not just the bandwagon stuff.

He's right...and don't worry so much about high/low compression between the two, you'll realize that boost works well either way...it's all on tuning and your overall goals...once you have that figured out, I'm more than positive you'll know exactly what you need.

though stock blocks do have power limitations, i do believe, especially based on recent examples, that a big part of running good power on a stock block, reliably, lies in the tuning.
i agree 100% with you mac on the estimated power "threshold" for stock blocks.
but, ive seen some pretty nice numbers being put down on stock blocks, and they are lasting....all in part to tuning.

lots of 300+ numbers on stock blocks..and like i said, theyre lasting!!!
