Yeah its fine to run 8psi. Psi doesnt ruin motors its the horsepower that kills the motors.
Im running 10psi on a stock block gsr and the car has been running strong for 2,000 miles. Took it to the track and on street tires it put down a 13.2 second pass.

what kind of power you got?also i know ppl but b16 heads on a gsr block to make an poor mans type r so what would my motor be

It would obviously be a reverse-like poorman's type r. It still works fine.

you probably have more compression with a gsr head. it has less volume in the compression chamber. have you done a compression check?
