Default Greddy Type R BOV

I have a b16 turbo setup, running on a street tune, running 10psi no idea how much i'm making obviously but feels like 250ish. Anyway I have this Greddy Type R BOV, and I see the adjustment on top for soft and hard, I have played with it and adjusted each and every way, and it seems like every time I just get nothing but surge when I left off after a pull. Sounds like a rattlesnake is the best way I can describe it, but I read up on a few sites and the only conclusion is that I am not running enough boost. Supposedly the BOV is only suppose to be used on hi-boost applications. I don't plan on turning it up until I get it dyno tuned so anyone have any suggestions to help I don't want to damage my turbo, because I won't be getting a dyno tune until 2 months from now.

The standard spring for the R is just the way it is. I run that exact valve on 2 of my cars. You're ok on the soft setting. Its a 14psi valve spring, so it will open regardless, but not as much. I've no problems with the surge, and if you plan on increasing pressure later, no reason to waste good money.

oh okay, thanx for the help. I plan on turning it up to 15-17psi once I get it fully tuned, so then it will open all the way right? So right now it's best to just leave it at the softest setting?
