Greddy turbo kit
some of the packages have it some don't. I think the optional parts are intercooler, bov, and e manage. You also don't want to run your car on the basemap on the emanage. You will still need to get it tuned. I had a greddy turbo kit on my 00 si a couple years ago. Only made 289whp on 8psi but that was after added and intercooler, p28 tuned on crome, and custom 3in downpipe. The downpipes that come with the greddy kit are actually only 2 inches in some places which takes away ponies. I just pieced together my own kit for $1100 and added je 8.5:1 pistons to the b16. With that set up I can run 380whp easy and safely also at the fraction of the cost of the greddy.
How bad was the base tune? What kinda A/F did you have? Im not looking for a ton of power. Going to be running stock internals and looking for just a little more kick. More then what a all motor combo is going to net me though......
Only looking to run like 6 psi.

The only thing I would do with the base tune is drive it very slowly to get it tuned. I know alot of people who have blown up their motors running a basemap on boost. The car doesn't run bad on base tune when you aren't in boost. I didn't have the emanage when I had mine I just used a chipped obd1 ecu then got it tuned. Look at it this way few hundred for tune to have a safe and reliable turbo car. Or $1000+ plus for a new motor.
Does that greddy come with injectors or fuel pump?

Supposedly it comes with 310cc's and I planned on adding a walbro 255
I just dont understand why they would call it a bolt on kit without having it tuned. The FMU that they send is preset for the b16 according to what their telling me..... So your saying you never tried the FMU that greddy sends with their kit?
Thanks for answering my post. Nice to talk with someone that has been there and done this.

No my kit didn't come with the ecu or the injectors. I bought mine used so It didn't come with it. No I never did try the emanage with mine. Although my ecu that I got was preprogrammed just to run the 440cc injectors so I could drive it to get it tuned. All motors are different in some way so that is why you should get it tuned. You will also make more relaible power if you get it tuned. You should just go ahead and run the factory internal wastegate setting of 8psi. If you have a good tuner you will be fine on that. I actually know someone running 12psi on stock b16 making over 320whp. I used that walbro 255 with pte 440cc injectors and it worked well. I would prolly still have it but i destroyed my stock clutch with it so I just sold it. Now that I have an act clutch im going for it again. Also I was on stock motor/internals as well at the time of the tune and made 289whp.
The pre-programmed E-manage is fine, especially if you get a new kit for the SI. It is a nice bolt on kit, that deals a good amount of power, but it does limit your growth is over 400whp. Yes, all motors are different, but the tune is set for the included injectors for a B16. The above poster seems to look at it from a build standpoint and not for what the Greddy Kit's purpose is; good reliable bolt-on added power, that is carb legal, that has some limitations. It's a good kit if you want to just bolt on, and drive.

Thanks for the response!
Yea I am looking at it as a bolt on kit..... I am looking for something that is reliable with a good amount of power. Im not looking to get crazy with it though.
I wish it was a little more economical priced but I think for the turbo newb it would be good to just get that kit along with a front mount and some of the other extras and just run it and have fun on low boost.

It is his choice. I just never saw a problem in the pre-programmed unit. It's not a BASEMAP by any means. I Ran one on one of my cars for 6 years straight on a bone stock motor at 8.5psi w/ the intercooler. I even went to the tuner, who stated that there wasn't much to tune considering the equipment that was used as part of the kit. The pre-programmed e-manage was programmed for specifically those components used in that kit. When you start to change components, then of course you need a true tune.
For 220-260whp or so, bolt on and play, it can't be beat. Just don't expect much expansion out of it.

The pre-programmed unit sensed the pressure drop from the intercooler, and set it accordingly. If no intercooler is run, it goes to only 6psi in an effort to stop detonation. If you use the Type 24 intercooler, it goes to 8.5psi automatically. If you use another companies intercooler core, it should still be fine.
ps..you cannot get anyone to tune the emanage(blue box). There isn't a program to run it off of to tune you'd definately need hondata, crome, etc. if you ever want any big numbers as well as a tune.
