well, i got my type-s last night and the first thing i noticed was that the boost solenoid looked familiar. looking over it for a few minutes, then i realized it looks just like the apexi avcr boost solenoid. so i got a freind to bring his car down to check, and damn, it is an apexi boost solenoid but packaged with the greddy name and a different casing. it has the com, nc and no ports just like the avcr and in the same position. anybody knows if greddy and apexi are one company? just curious.

 

They are not the same company. but many of Japan's OEM and Aftermarket companies share the same manufacturing facilities that are separate from the company itself.

It's like DENSO to Honda. They service Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and mazda for certain parts that are too costly for the company itself to R&D, develop, create and sell.
