With my build, i am looking at electronic boost controllers. The GReddy Profec B spec II is one i am really leaning towards. Can anyone give me input on this controller? Also anyone know whats the max boost this Controller can hold? i am planning on 20psi or HIGHER. Thanks-Jon
Yes. This controller is very good to use, especially if those that DO NOT want to go through their laptop on their engine management to control boost in different situations. the instructions that are located on Greddy's website are very good. It's not about just raising boost pressure, any valve can do that. The fact that the solenoid can work with the wastegate in order to help with boost response, is what really matters. I also like the overboost limit feature that is available. Even in the street, a few times has that come in handy.
If you don't like the display, there is the spec S, which is like the older profecs.
When it comes to controling boost, cost shouldn't be the biggest factor, especially when it comes to your car. there may be times that you just can't get to the laptop fast enough to change the response or boost characteristics such as in a changing weather condition, or the use on a circuit course. A worthy investment.
Check Greddy's site for the instructions on how to properly install and use the unit. The solenoid is good to over 43psi of boost.
