Got my block back! Pics - and a couple Q's....
So I finally got my block back from teh machine shop....everything looks good:
I got JE pistons too, but they are really shiny on top? Should I use something on them to rough them up a little?
Also, the piston rings that came with the pistons are the XC's....are these the right ones to use for a boosted application? Also, the oil rings are easy to tell, but what ring is the top ring and what ring is the 2nd ring (one is black other is bronze)???

thanks for the link Viren!
Unfourtunatley it only says what the ring gap should be, there is no mention of what ring goes on 1st or 2nd..... they both say N100 on them, does it matter which one goes on top? I would think it does.....

The ring on the right should be the lower compression ring and the one on the left should be the upper compression ring. You can tell pretty easy because one is thicker and the thicker one will not fit in the top groove. Those look just the rings I used with my Endyn pistons.

Sonny
Hey looks real nice. Im trying to find a real good machine shop within driving distance of me. Im considering Leitner's shop in Toronto. Does anyone know of any other engine shops in Western NY area? http://www.leitnerperformance.com/

wanna share how much you paid for that??
very nice, by the way
Boostaholic and Sonny, you guys were bang on! Sonny you were right they only fit in 1 slot. Also I put them on with the 'n100' marking facing upwards (as per a local honda mechanic suggestions - who also said black ring on bottom)
arsenaldragster - The cost of the machining is 1600, but I have a friend that gets wholesale, so it was 1400 + taxes, which was almost 1500 cdn....so about 1k US.

The rings should have a circle notch on one side, install the rings with the notches facing up. Also when you're installing the rings, make sure the end gaps aren't on top of each other.
i was looking at the holes on the outer part...interesting how there are more on one side than the other and how some that are one size on one side are different on the other.....why? (since i dont have the stock head gasket memorized in my head i dont know if that matches it)
looks sweet man , mie will be going out soon too im waiting on the stuff now , should be here on mon . just gotta find a good machine shop now .
631 Teggy - Read the post!
I already mentioned how much it cost me.
SirKid - who says yer getting a ride!
I would think that there are more holes near the waterpump side for better cooling.
Hopefully I'll have the bottom end assembled tonight or tomorrow sometime, as soon as i finish plastiguaging all the new bearings I got from honda. I'll post pics of the progress.

Leitner and Bush
Uncle works at BMW Maranello and they send all their machine work to Leitner and Bush. I am assuming Ferrari does the same considering he owns Maranello. I will know next week when my uncle starts at Ferrari
