Default good price??

I am trying to get my ls block rebuilt with, eagle rods, srp pistons, acl bearings. The shop I went to wants like 1000 to do that. The short block was taken apart(completely) before I brought it in to save some time. What is the average price to do something like that. pistons and rods I brought in....he told me I needed bore n hone, decked, pressure tested(or something like that), then assembly.

Sounds like a scam to me

Earl will do a bore/hone/hottank for a very reasonable price. PM him for details. And odds are, you won't need the block to be decked.

I'd say the price should be closer to $600 for the work + assembly. Don't forget you'll also need a new oil pump.
