Default a good 14b manifold?

I'm currently running an HF manifold with an adapter plate for my dsm 14b turbo. I need something that will flow better than the HF so im starting to look around for a new one. What are my options? I don't want anything that will cost over $225, but I want something better than an HF.

Custom log mani? Any companies make dsm 14b compatible manifolds (for d-series of course)?? TIA

Just port out a HF manifold some, runners, outlet and the flange/turbo also. You really can't beat it for the cost. I got mine for 10 bucks ported it a hair, and also eventually mounted an external wastegate off the top of it.

When my new setup goes on... and it gets warm again up here... i'm shooting for close to 300whp using an HF manifold.

Never thought of that... good idea. I picked mine up for cheap too, $15.

Did you just port the head flange? I could do that easily with a dremel, but what would be the best way to match the ports with my head? Also, how would I go about porting the runners? They're pretty small, and I have no experience with porting....

I guess if I f-up I can always buy another one for $10-15

I'm pretty sure any custom manifold maker can make a log manifold for your 14b. All they have to do is weld on a 14b flange.

i would port out the hf manifold.. cheapest way to go and everything would still fit(downpipe and all the charge pipes) I was also reading some good stuff about the hf manifold when its ported if i can find the thread i will post it!

Easiest thing to do for port matching is use the exhaust gasket... but that also works best if its done to the head also. For the rest of the runners, just open them up some, use gaskets to also match the HF to the adapter, and the adapter to the turbo. The 14b has a pretty decent ridge in the turbine housing, grind that out and open it up.. you'll notice the difference.
