Bought one of these and one side is completely black and the other side has a shiny steel circular piece that goes around the cylinder walls, there was a sticker on it that stated 84.5mm that was on the side with the steel piece going around. I also don't see any spots for the dowel pins to go through.

 

look at the gasket closely
it will say which side is UP

but the shiny steel circular piece goes towards the block

 

awesome, i didn't notice that before, but they have it kind of cut out in the headgasket on the black side that says UP
