Default To go equal length or stick with log style? anyone?

i live here in texas and without ac it would be unbearable. i cant decide whether i should stick with the old logstyle and keep my ac or go equal length. what kind of power advantages are you guys seeing with the equal length runners versus the log style? I mean is it really that big of a difference? my b16 will boost at around 20+ psi. comments. the only thing I drive htis car only at night, but ac is also nice. If the poer advantages are really that big of a difference then it would only make sense to go with the equal length.comments. help. thanks.

ya, i used to live in Corpus Christi...90%humidity sucks! If you want a high quality log style stainless steel manifold check out the maxrev link....https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=197699

If you want a high quality equal length stainless manifold check out full-race's link........https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=195438

Equal length manifolds tend to crack over time.

Agreed. The merged section undergoes alot of expansion and contraction.

The new RevHard cast manifolds were modified because of this and no longer have cracking problems.

I'm going through the same debate, but talking to motormatrix on here, he put down 560whp with the cast iron revhard a/c compatible manifold. If he can put down 560whp, my goal of 400whp with a/c seems easily reachable. Paul

Just a note, we ran a 9.6 back in '99 with a rev hard cast manifold! It can be done, but that doesn't mean there isn't more power to be had with an equal length manifold. Sorry, don't have any back to back dyno runs to prove it. I did, however, recently build a kit with the meng equal length manifold, xs ic, T3/TO4E turbo, and some other little goodies on a bone stock gsr motor and made 283whp at 7psi. I'm guessing a few of those came from the manifold.

I'm pretty sure that more power will be made, given the same setup with a log manifold and then an equal lenght manifold. But for the guys that want a/c, car is daily driven, looking for a very fast street car, and don't want the worries of manifolds cracking, i think this is the best way to go. Basically sacrificing some hp for a/c.

I, and TurbothisLS too I think, are talking more about true log style manifolds, like the maxrev, and the fmax.

Im at 308hp/240tq with 10psi on my drag cast manifold. Stock head, sleeved block. I still have much tuning to do. I guess cast mani's aren't that bad.

i say unless your going for insane power than just get a log mani and use the money saved to try and find traction cause we all know we can never get enough of that.

More hp can be had on the equal length than the log I'm sure. But ask yourself what your goals are. if you only want to make 400-500hp then go Revhard a/c manifold and save the money for something else. And go Revhard over the inline pro and save that money fore something else. Man I'm saving you money all over the place!! email me for the revhard if you decide to go with it. thanks
