GM 2bar map question (searched like crazy)
About to go get tuned one last time with the new setup and I am curious about this. I have a stock map in the car right now wich is safe up to about 11 lbs or so I have read. I happen to have a new 2bar from a granny national laying around though. Before I go back to the dyno, I am wondering what is the max it can read before going blind. I have been all through the conversion charts online and it seems to me it would read just under 16psi before it went blind. That would be fine with me as I don't think I am going to have to push past 12 or 13 to achieve what I am wanting to make with this car BUT......... After searching through 261 map sensor threads in the archives, I have found on guy who says 12 lbs is the max, and several who say 20 lbs is the max.
Does anyone have a definate answer before I do this? I am not trying to make enough power to roast the tires in 3 from a roll, I just want to make somewhere in the area of 350-360 and it could take upwards of 14-15 lbs, depending on the efficiency of my new setup so I want to be sure I have everything in a line before I drop the cash on dyno time and the tuners time.
Thanks guys.

i know that the 2bar's can read up to 14.7psi.
i forgot where i saved this to my notepad from, ill try to find the website later:
2 Bar MAP Sensors are used on forced induction vehicles(Turbo & Supercharged). They can measure up to 2x the apmospheric pressure(29.4psi), so that means it can measure up to 14.7psi boost(the atmosphere is 14.7psi + 14.7psi from the turbo/supercharger).

Thanks for the link and the info guys. That makes sense to me.
I am going to go ahead and use it and see where we can get for now. My total setup is fairly efficient so I should be able to see close to my goals with 14.7 lbs. Maybe even break them.
Now if I can just get my damn boost controller figured out I would be golden. If it didn't have the ability to switch between wastegate spring, low, and high boost on the fly, I would have stuck with a manual because this Profec is kicking my *** with the gain and set gain settings making it climb too fast (really responsive turbo) and putting the BC into protection mode although I never come close to going over what my warning is set at.
Thanks again for the info.

Already have, it's what I really want but my tuner hasn't recieved his from his distributer yet.
I was going to wait BUT, with the rebuild on the car, I am running kinda crappy with the old tune and drinking gas like a pro so I am just going to use this for now, it "should" accomplish my goals.

Re: GM 2bar map question (large farva)
just an fyi the reason the gn's only had a 2 bar map is because it was used as a sender for the boost gauge. thats about it. it only read up to like 13 psi before it pegged. thats why you can fun more than 14.7 psi on a gn. i used to run 30 psi.

I see, that would explain why when I searched on the website, it also had a MAF listing for GN's and TTA's.
I really don't know a lot about them, they are one of the few domestic muscle cars I have never had.
Thanks for the info man.
