Default getting crazy without buying into the hype

i decided that i wanted to build a very strong setup that had more than 2k rpms of actual power (cough 42r cough). So i sourced a turbo from innovative... new setup is now offically in the works

gt72 comp wheel, the "big" ITS cover, dual ceramic bb, 1.06ar divided tang T3 with a Q-trim T4 wheel

as compaired to my old 60-1 w/ a to4s cover

old setup

i'm using the same one. It really is a good turbo, I wonder why more people don't use it.

holy crap. I didn't think you could run anything bigger than a p-trim t4 wheel in a t3 housing

well, its basically a t3 flanged t4 housing, a little smaller internal volume compared to a straight t4, but not much

I got the turbo at a sponsor price, Rated hp i don't kno maybe its posted on their website. Last i checked with my builder they made over 700+hp. Given my current situation i haven't had the benefit of "playing" with the car when we got the turbo

You can expect to pay around 1900-2k or so from innovative.....i got a deal hehehe
lbs/min wise i never got a number on but the upper right of the 65% island sits at about 80-81lbs/min

So instead of 2k rpms of power you're going to have about 500 rpms of power.

you think a 42r would spool faster than this? theres no way.

On arrons bros car this had full boost by 4300-4500. The h22 is more volumetrically efficent than a 4g63. plus he was running a non divided tang manifold on it, but he is sitting at 2.4L, so i figure full boost at the very latest 5k with the properly built manifold and a fully built motor. and the motor will be run out to 9k 9500ish, so you do the math but i got a little more than a 500rpm power band

And a better perspective on this is that on the old 60-1 setup i got full boost at 4500 with a stock head. I ran it out to 7500 so thats a 3k power band. at 14-15psi i ran away from a low 12 second ls1 camaro (SLP- intake, headers, exhaust, throttle body, 3.83s).
