Default generic map sensors?

I was talking with someone and somehow we got on the topic of map sensors... I said I run a gm 3 bar, he said he ran a generic parts store replacement gm 3 bar. The way he said it he came off like he was thinking I was not as smart as him since I payed more buying the real deal.

I was under the impression these 3rd party manufacturer replacement map sensors did not work well, if they do thats kind a cheaper and more readily available alternative to going to the gm dealership for one. I know they say they are made to the same exact specs and everything of a true oe gm 3 bar or else they would not be suitable replacement but... I am not so sure.

anyone tried these, I am just curious if he is correct?

I know the s300 has issues with the generic 3 bars that MSD makes. I've even calculated the scalar numbers and regardless it didn't run 100% properly.
