Gauges: Is there a difference between a Pyrometer gauge and EGT?
I'm looking for EGT gauges and I'd like to stay with Autometer's Ultra-Lite series gauges. I see that they have model 4344 which is a pyrometer kit: http://www.autometer.com/hp/2001_cat...4344_large.jpg . But is this the same as an EGT gauge with a probe? The gauge says Pyrometer, not Exhaust Temp. I'm sure it should act the same, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks.
If you look closely in the pic, it says EGT under pyrometer. That is the exact same probe/hardware that came with my autometer EGT gauge too (replaced it w/ the GReddy EGT btw).

Seems like the GReddy only goes to 1500 degress and the autometer to 1600 is that farenheit?
Greddy goes to 1100C (2000F). Autometer goes to 1600F.

The GReddy responds faster, is easier to read, can read higher temperatures, and looks much cooler.

Try giving them a call first. I got the Autometer CF Ultra Lite EGT Gauge, but it didn't come with the probe. On the box it says, "purchase of thermocouple probe required." Hmph
I got the probe kit (also Autometer) for $50 extra. I know with some Autometer and Greddy kits, everything is included.....I guess that's what you get when you buy CF....hmm.

My bad, I didn't read the post carefully or look at the picture....yeah, as Dustin said, it should be the same thing.
My Autometer one goes up to 1600F
