I will let you know when I get them. From reading about them they are good rods. I wouldn't put them in my motor if I didn't think they were as I have already sold one set of rods and changed my mind about another. I got my first set of rods in December and sold them early April. The excitement is ...

Because we offer one of the lowest prices on these rods.... the list price for Manley rods is $657.00, we offer them at $589. You will be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

Then plz explain why manly would manufacture a cheaper, stronger rod that undercuts their line?

They have a larger rod bolt in them than the standard off the shelf manleys, and are cheaper.

I have heard / seen so many posts like this, and no doubt it's an important topic- But who has ever seen a rod (any) fail? I've seen motors blow and pistons melt / break, but who has ever had a rod failure? (besides stock? stock, even?)

If you understand compression/tension loading on a rod then you understand that the rod bolt is the weakest link.

I havent either, but its extra insurance. I would rather pay for a manley rod that is cheaper, with a upgraded rod bolt than the standard off the shelf manleys for full price.

Hell no....on the exhaust stroke, the piston has nothing to work against it, so in effect, the rod bolts are the only thing holding the rod/piston from coming loose. That would be the tension load boosted hybrid spoke about.

EDIT: Apparently the post I replied to had been edited by Delete_Me

I have seen many sets of D series and LS rods let go...bend and break apart in many peices...I dont think I have ever seen any aftermarket rods let go though, not even eagles....

Geoff, so this is an off the shelf Manley with the rod bolt upgraded to the 3/8" ARP? Is there any futher machine work done to either the large or small end?

By the way, I think the Full-race logo looks badass on the side of them

why not just take a great deal at that. all the questions just lead to ppl not wanting to offer the deal. its a manley rod w/ an upgraded bolt. the rod is licensed to full race in their spec. so of course if u understand business economies you would know that one manufacturer will license or make a product for another company to relabel and or upgrade to their specs at or near cost +%. this allows the 2ndary buyer to recieve a rod initially having factory specs to be bought at a lower price and then resold w/their modificiations. if that beats the manley srp then so be it. most manufacturers set their srp's at higher than their dealer costs +15-25% to encourage customers to buy the products from their resellers.
