Damn that looks one of my old manilfolds when my wastegate fell off luckily the vacuum hose kept it from tumbling down the road
But with my FR manilfold that isnt going to happen anytime soon

I'll quote the builder...

If done some what right, it would probably help the stress of that piece.

Haha, I'm sure your right. It might even make it easier to port, because you could do it to the el before you weld it on. Genius! lol.

He's definetly not a major manifold builder. I don't think he has the brain capacity for an operation of any measureable magnitude.

that picture with the broken wastegate is a CCFAB from one of the CCFAB threads in the tech / misc section
Do you guys think anything else could aid to the manifold cracking such as detonation, lean conditions, high egts etc etc or can this be blamed 100% on the fabricator

judging by the color of the manifold. id have to say no it wasnt detonation or lean condition. usually when that happens the manifold will become super heated and change color to a deeper purple, thus fatiging (spelling) the metal.

A manifold wastegate arm should never break off like that, he actually blamed the metal itself cracking, not the weld.
Welds will crack, it happens. But a manifold should never fall apart like that.

You're right, but now he has another new name so watch out who you buy from.

Talked to the cat on the phone today. He said that it is S-FAb. Didnt find much info on them. Is S-Fab some pretty good manifold builders??
I talked them down to $400 plus shipping. Cant beat that.

I believe you're the one who just E-Mailed us asking about this? (how i found this link)
sorry but we've never routed a WG out the side of the collector on our Ramhorns.
We've stamped / Lazor etched every manifold. If it doesn't say have S-fab, or the letter "B" stamped on it, then its not ours.

You should see the hate I'm getting on my $450 ramhorn (in the classifieds), and it doesnt look as bad as that one. All because it was mig'd.
