Default Fuel pump reliabilty??

Need some opinions here

I plan on making about 200-250 whp on a z6 and was wondering if the stock fuel pump would be up to the task ? the car is a cx , dsm 450s and tuned on crome . the psi will be around 32-40psi at the rail . gimme some thoughts on this .

also , i have the oppurtunity to get a lightened flywheel , i think 8 lbs with my clutch purchase and was wondering if it would hurt me or be worth the extra money . i had one on my old b16 and loved but hated it on my cousins gsr . i have never owned a boosted car and would like to hear some opinions from people that have had one on theirs .

I am fixing to order a few things and any info would be of help

Thanx in advance

Just get a walbro 255 intank pump. They are about $100 and are really reliable. You are better off safe than sorry.

Yea specifically the the fuel pump, and as others have stated there's a very nice intank walbro that replaces the stock one. My local tuner has it for 99 bucks and if you search online you'll find it for anywhere from 60 to that price. You may want to consider injector upgrades but they are also not a NECESSARY upgrade, just something you can consider down the line. But the fuel pump is something you want for sure. As a matter of fact my tuner stated he won't be able to tune accurately without one. If you don't put it in, it'll last a while but you will deffinitely burn it up at some point. might as well take care of it before it gets there.

I got my fuel pump for 89 dollars... I think from lightning motorsports.

They shipped it really fast and everything was hassle free.

everyone CHEAP walbro on the net for like under 100.00 is not actually a walbro . i know it is stamped on the side but i was told that is nor actually one .

i will dsm 450cc injectors , more than enough to flow to mid 200s . i might get a bbk or someone like that on the fuel pump if i decide to get one . i have bought the ebay walbros before and they have burnt up .

thanks for the comments everyone and if you have a new one . lemme know .

Not if you buy it from a legit seller. Buy from Lightning and you'll get the real thing.
