Default Fuel pump primes but doesn't flow while car is running

I'm running a Speedpro B2B ECU and i tapped in the fuel pump control into the stock main fuel injection relay on the passenger side (00 Si) near the stock ECU. When i arm the computer and ignition i can hear the fuel pump prime and my fuel pressure gauge goes up to 37psi. As soon as i fire up the motor the fuel pressure immediately falls and within a few seconds is at 0. I checked my return line on my FPR and it's still dry even after running the car for 5 minutes. I can keep the car at a steady 1500 rpm but i have to peddle the gas to keep it running. I'm thinking about just using a standard 12V swtich turn on the fuel pump manually. Anybody ever run into this problem? TIA
