Icon2 Fuel Pump: Inline or Intank?

I've been seeing and reading about both of these for use on my turbo setup...

correct me if im wrong, but i understand that if i use the INLINE fuel pump (located in the bay), i wont neccesarily need to upgrade the injectors, and use a FMU + missing link...

and with the INTANK fuel pump, I will have to upgrade the injectors and use a standalone?...

Any input is appreciated

Im looking to get the walbro brand ... If that makes a difference

The days of an FMU and missing link are long long gone.

What WHP do you want? That will give you a starting point for choosing an injector. You will also need something like Neptune, Hondata, or Crome.

Whew finaly! Thanks for response...
But ok, my car is a DD, so Im targeting between 230 and 250 WHP.

I just met a guy who was using a full Greddy 18g Turbo for about 2yrs now. He has STOCK fuel pump, and I think he said his injectors were precision 3xx cc. And the only reason why he upgraded that was because it came with the kit he bought... (kid is the luckiest kid I know who gets a full Greddy 18g turbo, fmic piping and everything, injectors, wideband/guage, boost control/gauge and other stuff for a wooping twelve hundred!!!)=DEAL

I will eventually ending getting a fuel pump and injectors in the long run, but since im tight on money, I want something that will get my car going in the mean time on low boost and Daily Driving.

Is 230-250WHP your end goal or temporary?

Get parts according to your end goal, otherwise you'll end up spending more money in the long run. If you eventually want 400WHP then get injectors required for that goal now; 240cc injectors cost the same as 750cc.

I don't remember how far a stock pump will go but if you starve your car of fuel bad things will happen. A Walbro is only about $100.

Get a intank replacement. That way theres less chance of any fitting errors and leaks.

Lol everyone doubts when I say "Yes my end goal is 230-250". But I stand beside my word on that because I dont want a super duper fast daily driver thats 350+ HP. Above all, I just want to keep it reliable so if I can make 250-270 and its solid then of course I'll keep that.

"Get parts according to your end goal"
I really want to do this ^^^^ Or at least Im actually trying. but as of now, I'm focused on getting parts according to my bank. But none the less, I am not trying to cheap out, so if it means I have to wait an extra 2weeks for that paycheck then I'll do it.

Another thing is, I've managed my way into this mindset that, "if it doesnt NEED to be replaced, then Im not going to replace it....

So yea, Thanks for your input and feed me with any more points/advice/tips

Check out the new Aeromotive 340 intake fuel pump. It flows more than the walbro255 and will be suffecient in the upper 300's if you decide to go with more power.

Get a 255 pump. Some 750cc injectors and use a good tuner. That way you could upgrade to e85 if you wanted to make more safe power.

HA! Yeah, that's because people very very rarely stay with the first numbers they state.

You can make that power easily with stock internals. I'd still get a Walbro, and a set of 550cc or possibly 750cc injectors.

Walbro would be good and e85 would give u a safer boost as stated above. I once.started like you. But once u start boosting u realize there are DD in the 500+whp tht are solid. Its alll a personal preference of wht u r happy with in the end. If looking for injectors I have a set of rc550s lol but your goal will be easily accomplished. The hardest part will be staying there and not wanting more ...

To everyone, please don't bump old threads. This question was answered long ago. If you need to reference an old thread, start a new thread and post a reference link.
