Default fuel pump and 450cc injector question

just need to know if its o.k. to drive my car 90 miles on a basemap to get it tuned. the basemap was programmed by a fellow minnesota man for a t3/t04e with 450cc injectors.(shipped to texas) but i forgot to mention to the programmer about the walbro 255l fuel pump. the injectors i ordered are the correct inject 450s from tunertoys. they said the injectors would flow 450cc with stock fuel pump. i wonder if the walbro will make the injectors flow WAY too much! would i be better off putting my stock one back in? or leave the walbro and get it tuned 90 miles away? thanks

I'd get it trailored there.

If you put 450cc injectors in your engine, and you don't "tell" it by making adjustments via computer, AFC, etc., then you are dumping a WHOLE lotta fuel into your combustion chambers. Plus, with the addition of the 255lph fuel pump over the stock one ( which I'm not sure what rate it flows at), you are pumping more fuel that you need and probably bogging the engine down.

NO!

The first guy is either stupid or didnt read the question

You have a basemap on your car, yes its running rich but not insanely rich, just enough for safety and shitty gas mileage, you will have absolutely no problem driving on a basemap, you just have to stay out of boost and you will be 100% fine

About your fuel pump, just because its a 255lph doesnt mean its going to force more fuel through your injectors, if it did, people would be using stock injectors with massive fuel pumps, that is what the fuel pressure regulator is for, it regulates how much pressure there is and thats what the injectors see

The 255lph is just because it can flow more and keep up with that pressure, you dont have to put the stock one back in.

Drive wherever you want, keep it out of boost as much as possible

Hope that explained it to ya better

I don't know...there are a lot of factors that go in to creating a basemap. Someone's map that runs great on one persons car may run like total **** on someone elses with an almost identical setup. The basemap that I tried made my car cruise around at almost 10.5 AFR's. I say try driving the car a bit locally before you veture too far. Definately keep it out of boost, unless you have a wideband and keep an eagle eye on it!!! Even then I would be leary about boosting around. I guess in the end it is up to you but borrowing a friends truck and trailer and paying for gas and food sounds way cheaper than blowing a motor.

very true. i guess that would be best. I'd probably be skitzing the whole way there! I'll drive it around town to see how the ecu reacts to it. then get it hauled to the tuner.

as long as you have a wideband and can monitor the a/f ratio and its safe you can drive it on a basemap. there are pleanty of people on homemadeturbo.com who drive on a basemap. boost on a basemap. and beat the **** out of their car on a basemap. getting it tuned is safer though without a doubt.
