Default Fuel Damper? issues on highway

anyone here still run a fuel damper?
i have a stock one still on my EX fuel rail, but I am having issues on the highway with hard accelleration and fuel starvation.
I have a walbro 255, 440 RC, new filter, adjustable fpr, gauge on the filter, and the stock fuel damper on the other end of the rail.

damper assembly looks like a big flow restriction to me, but i wanted to see if anyone had a reason I should keep it.
